Engaged in a think tank specializing in urban and transportation issues, actively working as a specialist in shaping future mobility visions. Has served on numerous committees for the Cabinet Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Ministry of the Environment, Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and others. Held various positions in the Real Estate and Construction Economy Bureau, City Bureau, Aviation Bureau, and Japan Tourism Agency, as well as secondments to the Yamagata Prefectural Government and the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, before assuming the current position.

Appointed as President & CEO of Merpay, Inc. in November 2017, and later became Senior Executive Officer & SVP of Japan Region at Mercari, Inc. in January 2022. From June 2023, served as Marketplace CEO, overseeing Mercari's Japan business. Resigned from Mercari in December 2023 and founded newmo Inc. in January 2024.

Later, handled numerous projects related to ERP implementation, financial process reform, the establishment of shared service centers, internal control frameworks (Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Internal Control Reporting System), and IFRS® adoption.

Currently involved in advisory services for business innovation in emerging industries and the advancement of financial operations. Also contributes to the KPMG Mobility Research Institute, conducting research on [MaaS (Mobility as a Service)](w) and [smart cities](w), as well as participating in pilot projects with local governments.

Joined a major automobile manufacturer in 2004, building a career in finance. In 2018, launched a new mobility business division with the vision of "freedom of movement for all," marking the start of a new challenge.

At the same time, established *GarrawayF* in Tenjin, Fukuoka, as a space for collaboration and co-creation, fostering value creation with people from diverse career backgrounds.

Has demonstrated the power of co-creation through numerous projects, developing unique initiatives that connect local communities with businesses. In 2024, spun off part of these activities to found the *Mobility Design Lab*. Currently working alongside local companies and residents to tackle mobility challenges and create sustainable mobility communities.

Conducts research on the development of domestic and international legal frameworks and societal acceptance for the implementation of autonomous driving. Also focuses on data integration in the mobility and road traffic sectors.

After working in the legal department of an automotive parts manufacturer and at a think tank, assumed the current position in 2024.

After serving as the founding editor-in-chief of the mobility business magazine *LIGARE* at the *Jidosha Shimbunsha* (Automobile Newspaper Company), became independent in 2013.

Has served as a member of various committees, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Expert Committee for Promoting the Use of Bicycles," the *Traffic Policy Council's Traffic System Subcommittee* (15th Regional Public Transport Division), the *MaaS-related Data Review Committee*, and the SIP 2nd Phase Autonomous Driving Peer Review Committee (System and Service Expansion).

Tanaka Yusuke joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in 2013. After working in Nagano Prefecture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he returned to the MIC, where he was engaged in planning and formulating plans to realize a sustainable society under a declining population. In 2021, he was transferred to Gunma Prefecture, where he is currently in charge of transportation policy. He holds a graduate degree in public policy from Columbia University in the United States.

In the Comprehensive Planning Bureau, was responsible for creating the Kawasaki City Comprehensive Plan. Since 2022, has been in the current position, overseeing all aspects of traffic policy in Kawasaki City.
